Staging
|

|
Our
first puppet stage was built from plastic drain pipes and old curtains,
based on a pattern available from One Way. This served us well for many
years. In 2003, through financial support from our church, we 'upgraded'
to a professional aluminium tripod arrangement (and newly made curtains!) |
Sound System
| A mini-disc player/recorder is an absolute must for puppet ministry.
The portability, ability to record and readily skip to required tracks
make a mini-disc much more flexible than a CD or tape deck. We have a
Sharp MT-821. For amplification we use a Yamaha MSR 100 Portable PA system which is
100 watts and gives a good clear sound. It can be used free
standing or mounted on a speaker stand. It is available from a number of sources but we got
ours from D M Music for Churches - www.dmmusic.com
a very helpful bunch. |

Kneelers
If you have children, teenagers and adults in your team, and also have
rigid staging, then getting everyone and everything at the right height
can be a nightmare. We use sheets of thick wall insulation material cut
into rectangles and covered with 'elephant tape'. Very light to carry and transport,
and can be stacked together as needed
Transport
With a regular team of
more than eleven puppeteers and all that equipment we couldn't
survive without our 'people carriers'. We just about get everything and
everyone in to
a Vauxhall Zafira and Seat Alhambra!
