Ghana 2007 Day 7 Thursday 15th March 2007 Today I got up at 5 am to visit a market with the team that does the daytime market evangelism, as I have never experienced the daytime market stuff before, and wanted to see what happens. The market wasn’t quite just down the road as were told it was. It took about an hour to get there, but hey ho this is Ghana and their distance judgement is about the same as their timing! J Anyway the market was huge and fascinating with everything from fish heads to cows and whatever else for sale. Apparently people come from miles and miles to buy and sell at this market. We went to 3 schools and had a lot of fun with the children there, with puppets that are getting decidedly soggy and grubby in the dusty heat. The children love the song we’ve brought for them this year, and really enjoy the actions. Then we went back to the medical clinic to see what was going on there. Our 3 doctors saw over 300 patients between them today. We desperately need more medical staff to come out with us. I prayed over a baby today, mainly to stop the mother from seeing me crying. The mother was just leaving the doctor and this baby with its skinny little arms and legs and distended belly had the most pitiful cry I’ve ever heard. What do you do? So I did the only thing that I could think of and prayed. The crying actually slowed and when I stopped praying the baby had actually closed his or her eyes. God is good. Well dinner is ready so I’m off. I don’t think I’ll be eating chicken for a while when we get home. J Love Sue x Praying
