Ghana
2007
Day 2
Saturday
10th March 2007
After having a
good night’s sleep at our hotel, where the air conditioner worked all night (!!!)
we woke really refreshed. We even had a hot shower (although Sue has used it all
up to wash her hair !
).
6 hours later we arrived in
Jesikan!!! It’s in the middle of nowhere. Lots of hills and forests and small
huts but not much of a town. However, we are assured they have a large community
here.
The centre we are
staying at is a Catholic conference centre and is really nice except, unlike the
hotel we stayed in, it doesn’t have air conditioning or hot water.
It’s hot, it’s sticky, we
have no Internet, things work periodically but it’s Ghana and I love it. The
people are really friendly and appreciate what we are doing. That’s what makes
it so worth while.
